Really great you could get community support. Was talking to a former Texan about the speaking tour. He commented Austin is a city that leads Texas on environmental issues often. The City fathers seem to be foot dragging on this issue. The Environmental committee got the ball rolling the the city manager did an end run that was a whitewash as best. To not even be willing to notify people to not use fluoridated water for infants is turning their back on reality. Once people become aware it harms by ingestion you lose all reasons to fluoridate. Topical with caution maybe by toothpaste but fluoridation is just old bad science. Industry and government wanted to protect themselves against lawsuits that could halt the nuke program and military contractors. Aluminum and other metals released airborne fluorides in production and you can not make bomb grade uranium with out millions of pounds of fluorides. This was done in secret at first during WW2. Fluoridation was nothing but a fraud to avoid litigation. Dentists and doctors first resisted then most gave in to the huge PR which punished those withholding support. Dental schools now have made true fluoridation believers out of most dentists. Few have a clue how much of an environmental toxin it is or how many foods are now contaminated many times more then the water. This is the hidden dose many ignore because no foods are labeled. The claimed safety standards ignored most risks to keep it simple. We have 11 EPA unions saying ZERO is the proper goal just like arsenic and lead. The NRC 2006 said the current max is not protective. The EPA has not responded to protect us yet. This is about politics and avoiding litigation and dentists not wanting to treat poor kids. Most dentists turn their backs on the poor not accepting medicaid. They get fluoridation and the resulting dental fluorosis from toxicity. lets ask dentists if they treat poor kids. Adults get less dental care when poor. Fluoridation is the smokescreen for failure.

I am so sorry I was unable to attend any of the events when Paul Connett was here. Had it been possible I would have attended every one and been one of the loudest voices cheering. I am so grateful for those who did attend and who welcomed him here and who work so hard for this very IMPORTANT cause...!!!
