ATTEND CITY COUNCIL CANDIDATES FORUMS THIS MONTH! (APRIL 2011)

Texans for Accountable Government (TAG) has provided a schedule of Austin City Council candidates' forums for this month, April 2011, HERE.  There may be more forums that we're not aware of.  The events, sponsored by neighborhood associations and other civic organizations, give the incumbents and their challengers an opportunity to set forth their platforms and take questions (usually written) from the audience.

Note an apparent conflict between two events scheduled for Monday, April 11.  Tomorrow I'll make some phone calls, get the correct information and post it here.

April 11 update:  It's official!  According to a Crestview Neighborhood Association officer, "the entire meeting is the city council candidate forum, and goes from 7pm to 8:30pm, Wozniak Hall at St. Louis Church.  It's an open forum and anyone is welcome to ask questions of the candidates."

No information was obtained on the April 11 event scheduled for the Granger Building.

Please make an effort to attend one or more of these forums.  Be sure to let the candidates know, in a respectful fashion, that water fluoridation is an important public health issue that is not going away. We especially applaud Kris Bailey, a Place 3 challenger to Randi Shade, for showcasing water fluoridation as a campaign issue.
