Mayor Leffingwell: What Was He Thinking?
Good afternoon, Mayor and Councilmembers. The subject is water fluoridation and today I thought we’d lighten up with a short fun quiz—just a few questions to think about. Each of these questions is valid for at least one of you, though I won’t be providing any answers. Well, maybe one answer. Here we go:

Oops…I gave it away. Well, that’s not a fluoride question anyway—except that it illustrates a good way to take in fluoride without drinking it.
It also moves me to wonder out loud just what it cost to make the slickly-produced 2 minute 15 second video it comes from. Since it didn’t involve hiring a tanker truck, it was probably comfortably under $186,000. But whatever the cost, Fluoride Free Austin doesn’t have that kind of advertising money to spare. That’s why we’re slow to undertake a petition drive. On a level playing field, we would win. But unfortunately the field is far from level, and funding makes all the difference.
That concludes today’s quiz. I’ll post the questions—minus answers—on the Fluoride Follies blog for our readers to ponder. And they might also ponder why a Council which by now has so much negative information about water fluoridation, is so adamant about keeping it anyway. Thank you.

I thought Daytona Beach had the market corned on clown politicians. I was wrong it seems. Sorry for Austin.
I called a local talk show yesterday and asked what would it take for you two to change your mind on supporting fluoridation. Both were former politicians who had supported the policy in their city. They ended up unloading on me and said I must think their citizens were dumb asses because they had voted for it twice.
May I mention Former Mayor VIA when he had ran for mayor several times spoke on a health talk show about the evils of fluoridation and his first action when elected would be to halt fluoridation. After elected a year later he told me I did not understand it is political. That was his response as to why he had not taken action. His second response a year later was he could take it or leave it . He would not admit his on air admissions of evil.
Now he says his people have the right to it and every person who does not want it should use a filter. He actually said everyone should use a filter because of mercury and arsenic and other toxic things. He was a filter salesman before.
That was when I mentioned the people had not been given informed consent yet to be aware of the risk. I mentioned the ADA CDC Nov 2006 warnings still barely public knowledge. That is when he said I was calling the people dumb asses. Strangle I was thinking of him not the citizens being the ass.
Their final comment was until the CDC and and FDA say fluoridation is not safe they will support it. That was after I mentioned the EPA unions asking for a moratorium and Robert Carton PHD EPA calling fluoridation a huge Fraud back in 1985. As of April 29 2008 19 EPA unions have asked congress to halt fluoridation. I asked how that much whistle blowing by inside professionals could be ignored. Their response was you can find anything on the internet. By the way I had shown them the statements to congress before. Short memory maybe. Oh the joy of dealing with idiots. I am going to see if the station manager/owner will allow a debate. Both have shows and the owner is going to already have VIA on his show to debate him on topics. He actually has mocked his ignorance before many times. He often insults those he sells air time to. Big John is his legal name and he owns Goliath Radio big talk. 1380 WELE. goliath radio gets it on the internet. I would love a call on fluoride as he mocks me also but he did put in a RO system but claims I am his only convert so far. Health talk with Lee is on his station is very anti fluoride for over a decade and we did a fluoridation show for a full two hours as its only topic once. I used to go in and do some shows as a side kick when he could not make it. He has his daughter do it now.

I ran across this blog while researching Lucier Chemical Industries based in Florida. I live in Las Vegas, NV and we spend approx. $900,000.00 per year on this poisen. When I inquired where the fluoride originated I was told it was manufactured in the US by Lucier. This was incorrect info. It seems to be Imported By Lucier From China. Believe me, this information was hard won. It is next to impossible to get any info about or from Lucier. On the google map it appears to be a large Offfice/warehouse complex. It is not a manufacturing plant. I finally found that they are Distributers. Had I not been lied to by my water district rep I might have dropped the subject--said Oh Well & continued to drink bottled, non-fluoride water. But I Was lied to and have received no reply from Lucier about their status (distributer or manufacturer) so I am now seriously pursuing the fluoride issue and am forwarding all info to All of my state reps. County reps, city reps & state reps. Also the info will be given to all of the news stations in the LV area. Hopefully someone will pick up the ball and run with it.
